How to give an industrial style to your interior ?

Industrial style has become a must-have trend for interior design aficionados! There are many ways to give an "indus" look to the rooms of your home. What all the different styles of industrial, modern and vintage decor have in common is their original inspiration: the atmosphere of American factories during the Industrial Revolution. Industrial style is often associated with urban lofts, with large windows, brick walls and exposed piping. Industrial style can be combined with other decorating trends, such as Scandinavian or bohemian, to achieve a unique ambiance in your home!

To master the industrial style to perfection, you will need raw materials: leather, wood or concrete are honored in this type of interior design, but they take all their interest when they are combined with warm materials such as wool, linen, hemp, velvet ...

To recreate this atmosphere in your home, we give you some tips!

GO HUNTING FOR VINTAGE OBJECTS
To perfect your industrial interior, go in search of flea markets to find vintage furniture and accessories! There's no need to overload your decor, just carefully choose a few quality items, with a nice patina brought by the wear of time, made of noble materials. For example, a large steel lamp, an XXL mirror, a metal locker, a cognac leather pouffe, a workshop chair, a clock with wheels will complete your industrial decoration. You will certainly make good deals and will be able to boast of having an interior with character, unique and authentic, both retro and modern.

USE THE RIGHT COLORS
Industrial decoration often uses dark tones, such as gray (with concrete floors, steel pipes...), matte black (on the frames of glass windows, table or chair legs), deep brown (with a leather armchair for example)... But nothing prevents you from putting touches of bright colors in your industrial decoration to give it a more "arty" side. White and light and neutral colors (beige, cream, off-white ...) have become essential to break the cold side of raw materials and bring a touch of light to the whole.

AVOID MAKING A 100% INDUSTRIAL DECORATION IN A SMALL SPACE
Because the dominant tones of the industrial style are generally dark, the risk is to darken a room already small or poorly lit, and to give the impression that the space is even less large than it really is. For this reason, industrial style lends itself more to lofts and large spaces; however, if you have a small apartment, you can still use industrial decor in small ways!
